No cookies unless you say yes to analytics. No advertising trackers, ever.
The short version
This website sets no cookies unless you accept analytics. If you do, Google Analytics sets cookies so we can understand how the site is used. We also store two small items in your browser's local storage to make the site work the way you expect. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| trggtm-consent | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask again | Until you clear it | No (strictly necessary) |
| trggtm-emailed | Session storage | Remembers which roles you emailed to yourself, so their buttons read "Emailed" until you close the tab | Until you close the tab | No (a feature you ask for) |
| _ga | Cookie (Google Analytics) | Distinguishes visitors so we can count visits and see how the site is used | Up to 2 years | Yes |
| _ga_<ID> | Cookie (Google Analytics) | Keeps the state of your current visit | Up to 2 years | Yes |
Local storage stays in your browser and is not sent to us. The list of emailed roles is not linked to your name or email.
Analytics without cookies
We also measure page views with our own cookieless analytics. It records the page, the referring site, your approximate country, screen width and a visitor code that changes every day and cannot be used to identify you. It does not store anything on your device. See our privacy notice for details.
Your choices
- When you first visit, the banner asks whether you accept analytics. Google Analytics only runs after you choose Accept analytics.
- To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser settings (or remove the trggtm-consent item) and reload the page: the banner will appear again.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.
Changes
If we add or change cookies we will update this policy and, where consent is needed, ask you again.
